I’m not a “dig a hole” kind of camper and I got used to camping places that had bathrooms and cutting myself off from drinking by 8pm so I didn’t have to wander out in the dark. I had looked at other camping toilets and just wasn’t into it. But then a friend of mine for a Trelino and raved about it. We were going to a dispersed campground so I figured I’d give in and try it. It. Was. Amazing. I even kept it in my little square drop trailer the whole time instead of in my privacy tent. It was so convenient to have, I could use it anytime, and it didn’t smell at all. We camped for 5 days. I feel like I have the freedom to camp anywhere now that I don’t have to rely on bathrooms! Look, I know, it’s an expensive plastic box. But it’s amazing for me and has opened up a new world of camping options that I’m excited to explore!

This toilet is so easy to use. It fits perfectly in my van. I don’t have to worry about chemicals and smells.

I purchased the medium trelino origin for my van and couldn’t be happier. Love the wood top and we use it as a small table when not being used for its primary purpose. It has a discreet design, no one would know it’s a toilet. Have only used it thus far for number one, but have coffee grounds ready in secondary waste section, but so far it’s absolutely perfect, comfortable to use and easy to clean. Super happy with the purchase and well worth the investment.

The urinal came with a lid making it a container and not a urinal with silicone membrane. Was disappointed. This caused me to modify a silicone funnel which works better easier.
The Trelino Original is possibly the best-made toilet in its class. It is well designed, sturdy and looks very nice. I found disappointing in several areas, especially in light of its high cost. First, the wooden lid is much too light, somewhat flimsy and has no finish. Second, it needs to be hinged so it can be raised and not removed. Finally, as it stands, it is difficult to move. A pair of recessed handles on the sides would address this. Would I recommend it to others? Probably, but not before the changes I listed are made.

As far as the cost, all our Trelino products are designed and manufactured in Germany, ensuring high standards in craftsmanship and sustainability. For example, the wooden lids themselves are handmade in a local workshop. This production does lead to higher costs. We don’t put a finish on the lids so that they can be stained to match interiors. Once a finish is applied, then the color cannot be changed.

We have a campervan and the Trelino is so easy to empty compared to our previous toilet, where we had to find a public toilet to dump. We got the mid size, which will last an entire weekend, but it is so easy to dump, we just pull the bag each time we gas up and dump in in the trash. I do recommend dumping the urine tank daily or every other day, because it can fill up quick and no warning when it is full. MOST IMPORTANT: I was surprised there was no smell. Obviously, you get some smell when using it and dropping covering material over everything, but after that, nothing. We love this thing.
It's such a nice option to have off-grid. It works well for 2 people and needs to be managed weekly.
Our composting unit works great for what we bought it for! We have a issue every winter when it rain's really hard we can't flush ! So instead of renting a outhouse we can just stay inside and use it!
Been on the road for 7 days and luckily haven't had to use it but it's nice security. Especially for someone with colitis.

This topper has made a solid feel to the top of the lid. It is soft and looks very nice. It would be nice if it came with the purchase. We love our Trelino Toilet and cover and can say this is the best Toilet option as far as we are concerned. Can’t wait to show it in our up coming You tube review of our van and Trelino Toilet. The fact this was made in Germany is very obvious when you see how well built it is. There may be others that look the same, but nothing comes close to Trelino.
