Trelino® Origin M • Composting toilet for Vans

I have been using my Trelino for a week in my house in the lead up to installing it in the van. I set aside that time to get used to it before taking it on the road, but honestly it took hardly any time. The tips for using it as a woman in their blog really helped. At first, aim was tricky but sitting up straight and tilting my pelvis (popping that booty lol) has eliminated any pee splashing into the back. The only litter material I could find at my nearest pet store was bedding for small animals made of recycled paper, baking soda and zeolite. Right now, the Trelino has about 3 days worth of poop in it and it does not smell of poop at all which really amazes me. They mean it when it doesn't smell. Though, because the poop doesn't land in water, you can't really sit on the Trelino and scroll on your phone without things getting smelly hahah you gotta get up and cover that poop as soon as you can to prevent smells. I really like The Origin's wooden lid, it makes the whole unit look really slick and understated. It also doubles as a great little seat in my low-roof van. One thing I don't like about the design is that the mouth of the pee container makes it hard to completely empty. Theres no real spout that direct all the pee out. You can shake it out, but that makes a mess. I have considered packing a small shake-to-start siphon in my toilet kit to really get it all out. If there was a redesigned bottle with cap on a corner at the top or something to make fully emptying the container easier, I'd give it 5 stars.

I wasn’t sure that simple sawdust would work to mitigate odor, but it seems to work just fine. I’ve only used it a few times for number two, but it’s very easy to empty. I do think the valve comes out rather easily when cleaning but overall pleased.
