The sealing properties of this silicone membrane keep the urine canister closed from the inside, ensuring that liquid is unable to escape from the canister into your toilet and that any smells are kept away. Even if there is any splash from bumpy roads or tipping, this membrane stays put and keeps your space clean and smelling fresh. If you are a full-timer using your Trelino® on a regular basis, the membrane should be replaced every 3 months in order to maintain the fit and sealing properties. For weekend warriors or part time users, this piece should be replaced every 6 months.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. For cleaning the canister, we suggest using a vinegar or citric acid solution. Having too much water in the solution or cleaning with just water would lead to urine scale build up and smells. If you're noticing this issue, then you can adjust your cleaning solution to be more concentrated with the vinegar or citric acid. Quality product.
First of all all, since purchasing and using the compost toilet, it fulfills all my uses and is very comfortable in my RV. I was originally concerned regarding smell but there has been none. The company has been very communicative with my re-ordering the membrane. This product and the customer service is very good.
